That 1st one had the forklift dents on the door and bedside BASTARDS! They move them around like old junk w the forklifts AFTER you pay for.them and ruin otherwise perfectly straight trucks. Spend 60 to make guage clusters look brand new w a new lens cover and some led bulbs. Armour all the door panels, run good optima batteries, put new bukbs in Gen1/Gen2 idiot lights so the alternators will work for ya(burnt bulb = no charging) Ive got a USMC 1008 troop carrier on 38s and 5" lift w 700R4 and Banks Turbo kit I found from a donor here in Socal. They are RARE now in 2024!

Ol girl sounds good and undercarriage is tired but not the worst thing I have seen, thos old 50 s vintage bruiser is ready for work,sooo overbuilt and strong if (I mean if if ) they are even moderately maintained and operated properly, beautiful machines, period!

I cut my teeth running a D9G clearing land with a KG blade. Don’t remember ever seeing anybody doing it with short pants on . Foolish!!

Question: I was running an old D8 like this one. I had started the blade coming up, and I couldn’t get it to stop. Of course, I was pushing and pulling the control arm back and forth, trying to get it to respond. It didn’t, and the blade just kept coming up. I was using the horizontal control arm to the right of the operator seat. I know I had the right control, because I had used it to pick the blade up in the first place. Unfortunately, it just kept coming up until the cable snapped. All these years I’ve wondered if it was my fault, or if the dozer was misbehaving. Is there anything to using that control arm other than just pushing it to one side or the other? I’ve never understood what happened. Thanks.

First thing I did when I got my 12v is ripped out that door buzzer. It's the blue box under the dash under the steering wheel area.
